Provence, France

In the shade of Provençal cypress trees stands a stone house, typical of the region. If it appears unchanged from the outside, it is thanks to the subtle work of architect Maxime d'Angeac, who embraced the codes of the place to restore its soul. Behind the façade lies an almost complete overhaul, with precise work on the mouldings, openings and proportions. An unparalleled transformation, without any radical change.

Preserving the soul

Inside, the tone is set: subtle shadows, Provençal light and earthy colours. To protect against the summer heat, the architect has redesigned all the openings to alternate between light and protective shade. Here, every detail counts in achieving the desired effect.

The traditional Provençal layout has been revisited to adapt it to contemporary requirements. To optimise space, the floors have been completely rebuilt, vertical circulation has been redesigned and a new staircase has been created. The work carried out here is that of a master craftsman, but never at the expense of the character of the place.
