This Geneva country house is a true feat of precision, designed to comply with the regulatory restrictions of a protected area. The goal was to build a distinctive, modern residence that blends into its surroundings, starting with the footprint of a small farm cottage. Maxime d'Angeac has successfully risen to the challenge.

Think ahead

Bringing this project to life required patience and precision. The outcome is a delicate and environmentally friendly new building, the result of a complicated building permit process and meticulous execution of the approved plans.

But it was boldness that gave the architect the impulse he needed to see beyond the demolished farm building and what regulations allowed to be built. Inside, he designed a highly modern space bathed in light and covered the whole structure with a wooden frame and double skin, created by the talented Thomas Büchi, a leading wood specialist. As if echoing the building's surroundings, it now fits perfectly into its environment. To build this house, Maxime d'Angeac and Charpente Concept used eco-friendly and modern wood technology ahead of its time, respecting ecological constraints that were almost non-existent at the time.

The result is a timeless construction with a subtle balance between interior and exterior.
