All the grandeur of the Orient Express, now at sea – Business Traveller goes aboard the most talked-about new sailing yacht in luxury travel.
Business Traveller was invited to Saint-Nazaire, France, for a very special tour of the brand new Orient Express Corinthian, à 54-suite sailing yacht, and the largest in the world at 220 metres long.
Owned by hospitality company Accor Group, constructed by shipbuilding masters Chantiers de l’Atltantique and designed by Maxime d’Angeac, artistic director of the Orient Express, the new sailing yacht is finally ready to sail after a four year project from conception to completion.
It is a masterclass in crafting a nautical icon, where the design language of high-end hospitality feels entirely native to the sea.
When we visited ahead of the official baptism on 29 April, the Corinthian was docked in Brittany’s major port cirty of Saint-Nazaire. In the distance the second ship, the Olympian, due to set sail in April 2027, was visible as construction takes place.
